Summary: Unique and interesting with some good food, but EXTREMELY slow service. The mission of this place is awesome. Such a cool concept put into action. Everyone was lovely. However, it took an hour just to get my coffee. Two hours to get our food. My burger was absolutely delicious however, my other friends orders were incorrect and really lacking. If you have literally nothing else to do for an afternoon and want to catch up with a friend or do homework, I can see it being a good spot. But if you're just looking for lunch and have other things to do, this place is not for you.

The number of meals I have that are 'good' or 'pleasant enough' even 'repeatable' are plentiful. Rarely do I come across something that is truly 'special'. This place is. Flavors bursting at the seams, inventive combos, a real art to the craft. Let them take their time, you'll be glad you did. So many places in 'the it city's burgeoning food scene' are bigger, have more hype, a trendier location, etc. and the one-timers come in droves. But this. This is, hands down, some of the best food available in Nashville. Understated and over-delivering, The Cookery deserves your attention. Their staff is kind, and their mission is clear: help where you can, and take pride in what you do. And they should. This was a phenomenal food experience. Thank you.

Tried them yesterday & was very happy I did. Greeted by the sweetest young woman who made me feel like we’d known each other for years; wish I could remember her name. Ordered Aunt Josey’s curry chicken pot pie which was beyond any pot pie I’ve ever had in any restaurant. Perfect hint of curry with a creamy sauce under a flaky crust. I will go there again!!

Food was good and fresh. Service could have been better, but we get it. He's training disadvantaged youth, so everyone is still learning. Once they realized nobody was helping us, EVERYONE was helping us. We were pretty happy in the end.

Sweetheart of a place. Will have to go back to do a proper meal review but it was a great place for a breakfast meeting. They have a heart for serving and helping homeless and marginalized people get back on their feet.
